Below you will find the most commonly asked questions when preparing for your fishing charter:
What is included in a one-time fishing charter?
Half day fishing trip inshore or nearshore with hours specified.
what is an eco tour (aka adventure tour)?
An Eco Tour or Adventure Tour can be anything from sightseeing, sunset cruise, booze cruise, visiting shell island and even hunting for sharks teeth. You tell us what you are interested in and we will make it happen!
what should i bring?
Bring the snacks and drinks you want for the day. I will provide the ice. I will also have appropriate life vests for any child 13 or under. I am currently trying to obtain Epi-pens for our boat but will have a first-aid kit at all times.
what & why should i tip the captain?
Tips are discretionary, however, it is customary to tip at least 20% for good service.
is the price of the charter for each person or the entire group?
The price listed on our Reservation page is for your entire group (from 1-6 people). This is a private charter, therefore we do not group you with other people. It will only be your group on the boat with the captain.
can i have more than 6 people in my group?
No, the max we can take is 6 passengers, whether they are fishing or not. This is not our rule, it is how the U.S. Coast Guard licenses private charters. Most private charters operate under this type of licensing.
half of our group cancelled. can we share a charter with another registered group?
Unfortunately, No. Split charters run the risk of being paired with a group that has different goals and ideas of fun than you may have planned. Our primary focus is only on private charters; this guarantees you will receive the best service that we offer to make this an experience of a lifetime! Individual private charters are also an option; who knows, you may just HOOK the Fish of the Day or just enjoy catching ALL the fish for yourself. You choose!
Will there be a deck hand along with the captain?
Our Captain does not require a deck hand. Play Money is set up with auto-pilot & laid out in a manner that the Captain is able to drive the boat and provide excellent service with the fishing. Our Captain is able to cater to various levels of expertise...from beginners that have never held a rod to avid fishermen. Many customers enjoy this style because of the hands on approach.
would your charter be suitable for young children?
We absolutely LOVE our Junior Anglers!! Taking families out on a charter is exciting and fulfilling. This could be your child's First Trophy catch or just a fun day with Mom or Dad! We want them to love the ocean as much as we do!
EXTRA NOTES: *When bringing younger children we want to be able to give them the best chance of having an enjoyable day. Unfortunately, motion sickness can happen with deep sea fishing and it is not very fun for parents to watch their little ones feel miserable. Believe it or not, young children are known to deal with motion sickness better than adults do. *You also want to be flexible on what to fish for when bringing kids. If fishing for the big trophy fish is slow we opt to set the kids up with smaller rigs so they can drop down and get instant action. *Most parents think a full day trip is to long for their kids. Though this could occur, the likelihood is the parents tend wear out before the kids do!! *Prepare a lot of snack foods and drinks for the kids.
are we guaranteed to catch fish?
We can guarantee that we will do our very best but fishing is fishing. We cannot control all the factors that the ocean provides. With that said, our Captain is very good and usually if he is not catching fish, no one is. We are a family owned business and we strive to be completely honest with our customers. We truly want everyone to have a great experience and we promise that we will always strive to provide that!
